Our billing service is simple and designed to make the process
easy and efficient for you. While there are many different ways we can build the
process to suit your specific needs there are three general parts of the process that don’t
change.
Input
(front half)At a predetermined cut off or closing date you gather all your time,
payments, retainers, retainer checks, costs, new case files etc…and send them to us. It
can be paper, electronic or a combination of both; we don’t care as long as you get it to
us.
We will input all of your raw data and prepare a set of draft bills for your
review.
ReviewWe’ll send you the draft
bills for markup, again either on paper or electronically. You review, make changes,
additions, deletions etc…and send the changes back to us.
Completion (back half)After we receive your revisions, we will make all
the necessary corrections, print and mail your statements. Your bills are mailed in
envelopes with your name and address on them and include a similar return envelope so as far
as your clients know, the bill came directly from your office and the money goes directly to
your office.
We will also send you a full set of final bills in .pdf format and a set of
customized reports to help you manage your practice, monitor productivity and reconcile your
retainer account with the bank and the bookkeeper.
TimingOur policy is to turn work around in 2 business days after we
receive your materials. We want your clients to get a bill every 30 days so they can
plan and budget for it like any other monthly obligation.
PricingOur pricing varies by firm size, timekeepers,
practice area, volume of raw data and input method so it’s very difficult to give accurate,
standardized pricing. Our experience over the past 27 years is that the cost of the
service usually amounts to between 1 and 2 billable hours a month for a lead attorney and the
more attorneys in the firm the lower that number becomes due to the economies of scale in a
larger firm.
We are happy to discuss pricing with you after we know a little about
your practice. Please contact us for more information.
